Has it really been almost a month since I last posted? Geez. Well I have been insanely busy. I just got back from a trip to Brooklyn that I was on for two weeks, and I believe the weeks prior to that there was preparation.
I have many, many, many hours of stories to tell...and I don't even know where to start.
Well...I will start with a slightly unrelated topic. I am making another livejournal account. Why? Because in reality, I have two fandoms. This livejournal has been dedicated to one of them, Newsies. And I would honestly hate to stray from that. My other fandom, Super Junior, is very much a part of my life as well, though. And I started bringing SuJu things into this lj, but I feel bad doing so. I think each fandom needs it's own place to be fangirled about. This place here is for Newsies. I will be making another for my SuJu. Now, I am not saying that one will receive more attention that the other, but I have to say, the world of SuJu is updated a lot more than the world of Newsies, so you will probably receive more updates from me as well.
Also, the biggest part of my Newsies fandom-ing is my fanfictions. And since I can't exactly update those every day, you will not see updates every day. But I am in no way abandoning my newsies or my fics. I mean, you wouldn't believe how newsie-crazed I was when I was in Brooklyn. I wrote 21 pages of In the Name of Spot Conlon, and I hope to have the next chapter up sometime this week, BVut I am still very busy catching up with everything I missed when I was gone, so it might not be quick.
I will work on my rant about my actual trip, too. There's a lot to say, and it will take some time. I think. | |

Ah the sweet smell of reviews. Yes, to me they have a scent. I sure love receiving them. And I received five today. I think that's a record for me. Let's see, what did I receive......one review on In the Name of Spot Conlon, one review for A Thin Line Between Love and Hate, and three reviews for Having a Good Time. I'm proud of myself. Speaking of those fics, I should probably post them on here, shouldn't I? Yeah that would be nice, huh? Yeah I forgot to mention they're all Newsies fics.Ok. That fic was originally a one-shot. But it is receiving such positive reviews that it is going to be continued. Hmm. I like that fic. Everyone who has reviewed seems to like it, as well. It hasn't been updated since I posted the first chapter, but I have worked on it a lot. I decided (for some reason) not to work on that fic in order, so the extremely long second-to-last chapter is done. When chapter 2 will be up I can't say. It's coming though. Things have been....crazy for me lately in terms of fandoms. How I am even going to remember everything I have to say.......I have no idea. But I'll give it a shot.
Topic 1: July 1st.
That was an interesting day for me. That was the anniversary of Dominic Lucero's death. It was hard to think about without crying. :( Don't make fun of me for it, either. I really did love Bumlets (and still do) and it's just heart-breaking to know that he is no longer with us. But I know he is in a better place. And he's somewhere dancing his heart out...somewhere there are plenty of fans to be spun on and newspapers are flying everywhere! I'm sure he's still having the time of his life.
How did I spend that day, you ask? Well....first of all, I watched "Newsies". Not much you would think, but I specifically watched Bumlets any second he was anywhere on screen. I even zoomed in and watched everything in freeze-frame mode, observing good screencap-worthy shots. (Though I have done it before) So it ended up taking about 2 or 3 hours just to watch the movie once. (And that was skipping all of the scenes without Bumlets, mind you) Then, I went on the wonderful thing known as the internet and watched every "Roundhouse" video I could get my hands on....er....eyes on, I guess. Dominic Lucero was such a delight on that show. And as a quick not, so were David Sidoni (Pie Eater), Mark David (Specs....or Don Knotts), and Ivan Dudynsky (Dutchy). I finished up by watching the McDonald's scene from the movie "Mac and Me" in which Dominic Lucero was a dancer. Some people said he had a mullet, but I don't think that's what it was....Oh side note again. Dee Caspary (Snitch) was also a dancer in that scene. The first time I saw it (ages ago) I spotted him right away when I saw his teeth. :)
I had taken a vow of silence that day in his memory. It was successful until I had to go to rehearsal where I was, quite literally, forced to speak. I was ashamed that I had given in and watched Newsies again when I got home as an apology. I know, I know, a little over-the-top but I felt bad. One good thing came out of that rehearsal, though. When we were sitting and singing, I had my legs crossed so my shoes were visible my friend next to me. And she is reading them (yeah my shoes have all of the Newsies' names and their actors' names on them) and goes: "Aaron Lohr....nice." And I had a slight shriek of happiness inside that there was another fan I knew that I was not aware of.
Topic 2: American Psycho
One of the weirdest movies I have ever seen in my natural-born life. Btu it has Christian Bale in it, so of course I watched it. I couldn't handle the whole thing, though. About halfway through the movie I had to switch over to The Mighty Ducks (which I will talk more about in a second). If you have ever seen American Psycho, you know how weird it is. The title sure says it all, though. I couldn't believe what a weird character it was. Even for Christian Bale. It was....nothing like Jack Kelly (Newsies) or Laurie (Little Women - which I'll talk more about in a short while). He is very diverse with his roles. Yay for him. But don't make me watch that movie again.
Topic 3: Little Women
I'll keep this short. It was kinda....horrible. Personal opinion, I know. But I really got angry at...all of the characters. Christian Bale's character starts out very handsome and extremely likable. But after he proposes to his best friend (a girl....sorry fellow slash lovers) and she rejects him, he disappears and them comes back....regrettably. His character turns mean and man-whore-ish, and he grew way too much facial hair. And that's all I have to say about that. The rest of the movie was epic fail. Started quite loverly actually, but everything was downhill from the beginning, I'd say. That's all. I have nothing more for that.
Topic 4: Italiano...and Dean Martin
So.....I don't know if I should blame Max Casella or The Lizzie McGuire Movie (which my friend forced me to watch), but I am learning Italian. It is fun. :) I went to Barnes and Noble and bought three books: Dirty Italian (and they meant it when they said dirty), Italian Phrases for Dummies, and an Italian-English Dictionary...ya know...the starters. Then I went to the Starbucks within the B&N and bought a Raspberry Italian soda. It was delicious. I highly recommend. Anyway...Italian has proved to be fairly easy. But maybe that's because I took three years of Spanish lessons...and Spanish and Italian are somewhat similar. Same sentence structure, so that's nice. But even before I started learning, I knew how to sing the chorus of "Hakuna Matata" in Italian, so I felt somewhat ahead. Oh and I knew that Dean Martin song: "On an Evening in Roma" and that was half in Italian. Hmm I love Dean Martin. Sorry; off-topic. Italian is fun and easy. It really is a beautiful language, too. And I am now able to use it in my SPRACE fics, because I am one of those losers who uses the total Newsies cliche that Racetrack is Italian. And that is still only about because Max Casella is Italian. Not that there's anything wrong with it. In fact, it's one of the things I love most about him. Anyway....I am going to Italy in a couple of years as a foreign exchange student, and I know I will survive! I will have learned the language, and I have always loved the food! Mmmm. Italian food is the best. So.....yeah I'll be alright! The nice-looking guys will be nice too. *winks*
Sensa pensieri, la tua vita sara. Chi vorra vivra, in liberta.....hakuna matata.
Topic 5: Doogie Howser
Fandom, or not fandom? That is the only question....
I seriously love Doogie Howser M.D. It is one of my favorite shows. I can't get enough of it. And Vinnie Delpino is one of my favorite TV characters. Max Casella captured the role perfectly. But...the real reason for this being a topic of discussion is this: The pairing of Doogie/Vinnie.
Now, to me, it was quite obvious. Plenty of Doogie/Vinnie moments occurred on the show. A ridiculous amount actually. But guess what? They have NO following! I have found a single fic out of anywhere on the internet. One single fic. Can you believe that? 'Cause I sure can't. It's ridiculous. Considering how many people watch it, and how many Newsies fans I'm sure watch it because of Max Casella. And we all know most Newsies fans are slash fans.... So I just thought they would have something. But alas....practically nothing. I think it is my duty to write a fic or two for them. And at some point I will. I just have other priorities in my fandoms right now. *contemplates or a moment* Hmmm...maybe that's what everyone else goes through, too....and just never gets around to it. But I promise some day I will have a Vinnie/Doogie fic up!
Topic 6: The Mighty Ducks
My favorite trilogy ever. And my favorite sports movie ever. And...my current main fandom. Wow.....I have come to love this even more than before. I seriously can't get enough. I had always enjoyed the first movie, but had never attempted at either of the sequels. Well...the day I found out that Aaron Lohr was in both of the sequels, that changed drastically. I was desperate to watch them. It was slow-going, no luck chuck for about two months. Then I finally woke one day to find D2: The Mighty Ducks on television! Just my luck, I came in the middle. The part where Goldberg, Averman, Guy, and Dwayne are on Rodeo drive. That's where I got to come in. Sad, no? I missed so much. And since I had never seen it before, I was kinda....confused. I didn't even know who Dwayne was at the time, and I was confused why the other four newbies were there, and why some where missing. And I didn't know why they weren't in Minnesota. ANYWAY. So I finally bucked up and bought the trilogy online. However, it took ages to get to my house. It arrived two days later than the last possible day it was expected to arrive. (According to Amazon.com anyway) And in the time I spent waiting for it, D3 was actually on TBS once. It was an odd night, good luck if ya watched it. But I had attempted to go to sleep at about midnight. But after about 2 hours of tossing and turning, I finally sat up, realizing I wasn't going to sleep any time soon. I turned on the TV guide channel to check the time. 2:11. Then, I just so happened to have turned on at the right time to notice that D3 was currently playing on TBS. I practically shit. I immediately started watching. Lucky me. 41 minutes in, I start watching. I suck at timing. Here is where I became utterly confused. I had no idea what was going on and why they were back in Minnesota after the second movie, or why Banksie was being a traitor and why they sprayed nitrogen on the Varsity hockey team's clothing. But the real adrenaline pumper was me watching the movie the whole time going: "Where the hell is Dean Portman!?" Because he was nowhere in the middle of the movie. Wait...was he in the beginning? I don't remember. Anyway, I literally drove myself mad to the point where I was hitting things. Namely, my bed, pillow, wall, and self. But just when I was at my breaking point, in walks Dean Portman. And it was kinda awesome because it was as monumental in the movie as it was for me. Boy was I glad to see him, and so were the Ducks. Er...but they weren't Ducks at the time...but whatever. They're always Ducks to me. And soon the part I had long awaited for arrived. Dean Porman rips off his clothes while in the penalty box and dances to get the crowd riled up. It was wonderful, no? It certainly made up for all of the confusion. Everything makes sense now, of course. Because I was filled with excitement when it arrived in the mail yesterday! The excitement overcame me and I was on cloud nine...kinda. If that's possible in this situation.
Even more amazing than the actual Mighty Ducks trilogy is the slash it produces. I found it the first time I saw it. Okay, that's a lie. I was probably about five the first time I saw it, so I was unable to see the slash. But it was there all along...Chadam. Mmmmmm Chadam. Charlie/Adam. One word: Adorable. But they can't really be summed up with one word, can they? Too amazing for one word. Though both adorable and amazing seem to work pretty well. But I love me some Ducks slash. Chadam may have been prominent in the first movie, but the second movie introduced something else entirely: Bash Slash. Yes, you read that right. Bash Brothers SLASH. Dean/Fulton. Come on....you can't tell me you didn't see it! It was plain as day. The knowing looks, the lingering looks, the constant closeness, the shared bedroom. Not to mention their random attachment to each other. One moment they are fighting, the next....Dean is defending Fulton at school. Remember? Fulton asked a stupid question that Dean was quick to call "...a good question!" Even though they had been fighting not too long before. Then all of a sudden they're the Bash Brothers. Hmmm...suspicious. Actually, I read a fanfiction that gave a possible explanation for why. It was quite good. I'll put up a link later. Speaking of which, that's pretty much all I've been doing for the past three days - reading Mighty Ducks slash fanfiction. It's too great. I'm permanently hooked. I've even begun to plan my own Bash Slash fic.
I know what you're thinking: "She's abandoning the newsies!" And my reaction: "What are you crazy!?" Newsies is what pointed me towards The Mighty Ducks in the first place. And I love Newsies way too much to ever leave it. Trust me on that. Just because I'm adding another fic into my collection from a different fandom does not mean I will forget the other ones. Are ya kidding? Love them too much. Besides, even if I wanted to completely switch to Mighty Ducks as my only fandom, it wouldn't last long. There is a lot less fanfiction for it. I have only been reading for three days, and already I have less than 25 slash fics left to read. That's on the only two sites I've found some on. (Fanfiction.net and Queertet.net) I have not yet searched on livejournal, but in quick looks, I have not found anything I haven't seen elsewhere. In fact, I haven't really found any at all. (Help if ya have some on lj?) But the point? I am going to be out of fanfiction to read for TMD fast, and not many people are still writing it for some reason. I will contribute several fics I'm sure....well, I hope.
Last notes.....I love being a Minnesotan now. The Mighty Ducks made me proud to be one. The fact that I watched the movies going: "I go there every day!" or "I fell down those stairs once." makes me really happy inside. And the fact that Jesse calls Banksie 'Cake Eater' is like an inside joke for all of the Minnesotans watching the movies. :)
Haha, so wait....if Minnesota is the home of the Mighty Ducks, then that means Minnesota is also the home of Chadam...and half of the Bash Brothers! SWEET!
Wanna know something awesome? If I were to have been on a hockey team, I would have been District 5! Based on the boundaries....I would have been a Duck!!!!!!
But I have to wonder....why was Aaron Lohr only in the parts of the films not filmed in Minnesota? Does he not like it here? Or was he unable to travel here to film? I really hope it's the latter. Either way, it makes me sad that he was never here. On the other hand, it also means I wasn't able to miss him. Because if he was here and I missed seeing him, that would just be plain awful.
Rant out. For now.
By the way.....I chose to write this rant rather than sleep. I haven't slept in over 21 hours. You'd be surprised how long it takes to do something like this - even if it is for my own pleasure. Even doing the tags took forever. Because I'm a loser and I actually put legitimate tags on my entries.

That last post didn't work AT ALL...but I fixed it! Now all the videos are viewable! I owe it to lielabell! Now you can have a bunch of Max Casella vids at your disposal for your viewing pleasure...
And since I have now also figured out how to use lj cuts, I can share Chapter two of In the Name of Spot Conlon with you! Enjoy! Oh...and I'm not sure how long exactly it will take me to get chapter three up. Stay patient! - Mood:okay

I had originally posted some videos on here that included Max Casella. They didn't work, and I was utterly disappointed. But I decided to try again! (Thanks lielabell !)
And just because it's amusing for me....

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted! I have been majorly busy writing my fanfictions and well, of course, reading fanfictions as well. (and I'll make another post about them next) You may notice that I have a special new layout on my livejournal. That is thanks to my friend hanabiartist (Thanks again, >8D)
Yes, unless you are a complete idiot, you can tell that the picture on my layout is Racetrack Higgins. Or, as I do, you could say that it is Max Casella. Who is just wonderful.
Speaking of Max Casella, I had a dream about him last night. Nothing creepy. Especially since he's 41 now....but the dream I had was with what appeared to be a twenty-two-year-old version of him, because he looked as he did in the first season of Doogie Howser, M.D. I'm not really sure what the dream was about, as I often have dreams that are cryptic, and I don't remember them when I wake up anyway. But I was there, and twenty-two-year-old Max was there. And he was (for no apparent reason) dressed like Racetrack Higgins, even though he looked a little to young to be Racetrack Higgins. Do I mind? No. Because Racetrack Higgins is awesome. Anyway, the dream took place in a house....(wow that's really unspecific) and he was smiling a lot. I have absolutely no idea why. But because of it, I was smiling a lot. And....I'm sure there was dialogue, but I really don't remember it, okay? I'm sure some time today I'll suddenly remember. (That happens to me a lot)
Speaking even more of Max Casella, hanabiartist was nice enough to give me a copy of Dinosaur today! (You know that Disney movie with the lemurs and the one dinosaur they find? And the everything blows up and they have to find a new home?) And the reason she gave it to me? Well, it's actually a good movie, that I really liked when I was younger. But also...Max Casella does the voice of Zini, who, interestingly enough, was my favorite character. - Tags:max casella

Okay. So today, I was obviously exhausted from our performance last night, because I slept until 2:00. Yes...PM. Don't know how that happened though....Anyway! The point is, when I woke up, I turned on the television and discovered that D2: The Mighty Ducks was on! Now, some of you may be thinking; "Who the hell cares?" Well...I care.
In D2: The Mighty Ducks, Aaron Lohr plays Dean Portman, one of the "Bash Brothers". He was the one from Chicago, Illinois. Now, this was only two years after Newsies, so Aaron was still very good-looking. Yes, even when he got quite sweaty...*Gets lost in her fangirl mind*
SO! My point, because I did have one, is this: Aaron Lohr is quite the opposite of Max Casella. In what way do I mean? Well, I have ranted before about how Max Casella is the epitome of a type-casted actor......Aaron Lohr is the opposite. He has played so many roles that were all very different form each other. But I have to say that the most drastic difference was between Newsies and D2: The Mighty Ducks. Which is interesting considering D2 was the very next thing Aaron was in after Newsies.
In Newsies, Aaron Lohr played Mush. Now, Mush (in my opinion [and many other Newsies fans']) was the newsie who was...innocent and adorable. Yet still "hot" (although I hate using that word to describe people, Aaron Lohr is quite the exception. Did you all see his abs? Whoa sorry. That's its it's own rant in itself. I'm sure it will come up later.) But nonetheless, he was completely nice and cute.
In D2, Aaron Lohr played Dean Portman, the Bash Brother from Chicago, Illinois. He was pretty, I would say, bad-ass. He was tough, at times mean, and strong. I mean, he was a freaking Bash Brother. He didn't get that nickname for nothing.... But something all of us appreciated was when he did a bit of a strip for us. Completely ripped off his shirt!!! He just loves showing those abs...Okay. I need to stop.
I think I got my point across - albeit through a lot of ranting and distractions - and it made me want to do another entire rant on Aaron Lohr. That will probably be my next venture.
Oh by the way....I am going out of town for a couple of days, so if I don't update for a little while, don't freak. I'll try to do an uber-rant when I return!
Just because I feel like it....here are examples of...what I mentioned...

Yet another post? Geez, even I can't believe it.
But....I've been having a pretty good night!
I discovered an amazing newsies slash website! It's called The Refuge and it's incredible. I practically live on there now. And it made me so excited, that I went and worked a little on my current fanfiction! Kudos to the site for that!
And even better, on the site, I was able to read my favorite (in-progress) fanfiction! It is, of course, a SPRACE (Spot x Racetrack) fic. And it's freaking adorable. It's called All That Remains and the author is Lielabell. She's amazing. I eagerly await every chapter of this story. If there are any other SPRACE fans out there, this story is a must-read.

Happy Friday the Thirteenth everyone!
Yes...I know this is me fourth post today....
So...tonight I had a performance for a show I have been rehearsing for for months. In that show, I played a person from New York. I was extremely proud to say that. I was not cool enough to be from Brooklyn, but I was from Manhattan, so...yay!
We were all a little freaked, being that this was our opening night AND Friday the 13th. But everything worked out okay. Only two injuries! And as far as the show goes...well...I have to say we kicked ass......just a little.
We sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" at the end, in honor of my friend's Dad, who passed away earlier this year. Tears were shed, hugs were given, and hearts were touched.
I am now extremely tired though. SO much dancing.....but nothing compared to the dancing of the newsies.
Anyway.....there's something I used to loathe hearing, but am now okay with...And that's when people tell me I have "cute legs." That used to...well, I'll be honest...it used to creep me out. But.....something a lot of you probably know is that Aaron Lohr (Mush, from Newsies) used to have adorable legs...if that's possible. And I rant about it often. So now when people tell me that I have "cute legs," I think: "Yay, now I feel like Aaron Lohr!"
Tis all for now....but I wouldn't be surprised if I happened to make another post within the next few hours... - Mood:Like Aaron Lohr
